The Annual Litigation Forum was hosted by the IBA Litigation committee on 8-10 May in Berlin at the Ritz Carlton hotel. The headline of the forum was Disruption in Litigation – New Types of Disputes in a New World Order. The conference was attended by our managing partner – Grzegorz Woźniak.
Litigators worldwide are facing new issues associated with the rapid development of technology and AI. The topics of the conference concerned a variety of issues such as collective redress, the effect of protectionism and other geo-political forces on litigation, litigation game theory and blockchain/cryptocurrency litigation.
One of the most thought-provoking panels concerned the review of the new EU draft directive on collective redress for consumers and the comparisons made between the opt-in and opt-out systems.
The conference was an outstanding event that gathered top litigators from around the globe. The next IBA Litigation Forum will take place in Buenos Aires next year and we are very much looking forward to it.
